An air to water heatpump uses a refrigerant to absorb and transfer heat from the outside air
into the system. The refrigerant is then pumped through one or more water tanks where it is
heated and used to supply the heating water in your wet central heating system, or domestic
hot water for use throughout your home in taps and showers etc.
Air to water heatpumps have an extremely high Coefficient of Performance (COP) which means
they’re highly efficient at producing more energy in heat than they use in electricity.
Typically they can produce three units of heat for every unit of electricity used which
means you’ll be saving money and reducing your carbon footprint at the same time!
As we move towards a cleaner future with more renewable energy sources, air to
water heatpumps are the way forward. As they’re more efficient and perform well all
year round, they can be an excellent option for anyone looking to heat their home in a green
and affordable way.
